After Bella's and Edward's wedding, everything seemed to be falling into place. Rosalie was warming up to Bella, and even the werewolves had stopped threatening to rip them apart for a while. Jacob's and Reneeseme's relationship is flourishing, and for the first time in a long while, there is some peace in the Cullen household. Despite it all, Bella Swan was unhappy. Her change from a human to a vampire had more repercussions than she had first thought. Already, she had face no less than ten assassination attempts, and she knew that things could only get worse.
The Volturi was refusing to help, the Denalis' distant after the death of one of their own. Even their family was breaking apart, and there was nothing she could do about it. So when a strange letter arrived, telling her details about her past life and to meet the man, she had agreed, and thus found herself in an Italian restaurant, eyes wide with shock when the vampire had revealed that the Volturi was planning an assassination attempt on Bella and her family. She did not believe him at first, even threatening to kill him if he didn't tell the truth. But when Edward met the man, he had reassured Bella that he was telling the truth, and it was with a great reluctance that Bella trusted him; enough to allow him to live with their coven for a while.
In Romania, things were changing. A new vampire claiming to be the long dead Count Dracula emerges. He plans on forming a new coven, and moving to America, where he hopes to convert more to his cause of overthrowing the Volturi. One by one, the vampires joined him. All of them has one distinct peculiarity, they turn into ashes once they step into the sun. Yet they share the same characteristics as the normal vampires. Were they a new breed of vampires, or something else entirely? The Volturi does not know what to make of them, and neither do the normal vampires who met them. What are they exactly? Were they a totally different species, or did a mutation in the venom cause those differences? Or was it that the Romanian vampires reacted differently to the venom, thus leading to their vunerability in the sun? Only time would tell.
The Romanian coven is moving to Forks, and so does everyone else. In some way or another, Forks has become the vampire hotspot, where vampires of all ethnicities resides in a tentative peace. Time would only tell if this peace was to last, or do the Cullens have to intervene to keep it.
With the Volturi on her back and a coven moving in, Bella Swan's life is hectic at best. But who can she trust now, besides her family, when everyone is out to get her?
